Sorry it’s difficult to answer the above because I received very good treatment from the initial nurse we saw but then I was sent to get a cannula put in and the male nurse was complaining that he wanted to go to lunch and told the other nurse to do it, but the other nurse said she didn’t know how as she hadn’t done it before so they asked another nurse and she said she was too busy so as they were arguing between themselves I left! I returned home and went to bed with pain killers However I do feel a bit better today but not as a result from my visit to A&E

Suggested improvements
Do not let your patients hear you arguing, I’m not very good with needles and had explained that to the nurse.

I find if you don't have a visible injury it's very hard to get people to understand. A broken leg is simpler to deal with. It's known. I was treated with dignity and care. The staff seen were good and professional. The clinic is very clean.

Suggested improvements
I don't know how you would get people to think about things you can't see or having undefined symptoms can be horrible for the patient whose suffering with them.

I found the systems in place efficient and effective

Suggested improvements
I think they are doing a good job in difficult circumstances. It also seems to work well now that they have systems in place to avoid unnecessary visits to A&E depts that do not warrant it.

Review of Urgent Treatment Centre - Children
1st December 2020

We was sat in the main waiting room with all other patients even though we was sent from walton hospital where then rang and informed a&e that they thought he had COVID-19 and he had a high heart rate and chest pains. The doctor we saw was unprofessional in her manner of speaking when i told her they asked me to get another covid test done she replied “whats the point it wont change anything” she did not check him over properly. It was left as “get another covid test if thats what you want to do and its down to me now”! I left fuming!

Suggested improvements
Checked him over properly, gave advice in accordance with government guidelines, kept him separate from other people.

Review of A&E St Peters written by a patient
1st December 2020

Was left for 2 hrs with no information had to ask a couple of Times how long I would have to wait as patient who were seen before me and came in after me , when seen the doctor was very caring and understanding , also the person I first seen as I was going in to a& e was rude to my daughter I understand that things as not normal but politeness and manners do not cost anything

Suggested improvements
Have polite staff and inform patients what list they are on injuries or illness , so you can understand how the hospital system works .
